On a hot and humid summer night, two years ago, amidst the music, food trucks, and vendors at the Mosey down Main Street, we met a homeless expectant mother. She shared that her first two children had both been removed from her care in the hospital, shortly after they were born.
And there she was...
at our table,
at the Mosey,
pregnant again,
and unable to parent.

We were able to support her, take her to doctors appointments, find resources for her, help her choose a wonderful adoptive family, and establish post adoption contact agreements, so she could have regular visits, receive pictures and updates often - something she does not have at all with her first two children.
This week I met with this sweet, strong birth mom, who has been through so much and has so little. She told me she wished she would have known about Gifts of Grace before her first two children were taken from her. She has no updates or pictures from them. She has not seen them and doesn’t know where they are.
But her third son, he just turned 1 last month.
“Would you like to see a picture?” she asked, her face lighting up as she talked about her proudest accomplishment - giving him life and choosing his adoptive parents.

And so, it's because of her, that we "Mosey On" and show up with our Gifts of Grace table at the Mosey every summer.
One young lady who feels a deep sense of purpose and peace through placing her son for adoption and having the ability to stay in contact and receive updates.
One adoptive family who's prayers were answered and they welcomed a son.
And one little boy, who is safe, loved, cherished and future is bright.
That's why we Mosey.
